Jesseman Elvira Shakti Heyward MacBean Jesseman Elvira Shakti Heyward MacBean (aka "Wayward" MacBean) was named for her four grandmothers. Jesseman, (or "Vi" for short) comes from a long line of independently eccentric women. She was born at a young age to Feargus Quinn "F.Q." MacBean and Julie Andrews Maria Jesseman in a legendary part of Scotland where the the Highlands are alive with the sound of music. Growing up surrounded by the songs they had sung for a thousand years, she discovered a natural talent for singing. After spending an idyllic childhood learning how to make her own clothes out of sheep and small bits of wood and metal, she yearned to see the world and share her musical talents. At the age of 16, her mother apprenticed her to a convent brewery near the Harbor, and she set off to experience life in the city. After training as a missionary barmaid, she spent several years on the docks cleaning up the seamen and working part-time as a pub singer. She eventually gave into temptation, however, and decided to utilize her extensive education in men and alcohol to experience life for the drunken revel that it is. She left the convent, and joined a self-sustaining feminist sheep co-op called "Aye, Love Ewe". In the succeeding years of dreamtime in Glasgow, she has fallen head over heels into a series of encounters with burly and hairy men of dubious character and various talents, (musical and otherwise). Although she is an independent woman, and fiercely proud of it, she still secretly dreams of being swept off her feet by a kilted Pirate in shining leather and being claimed as his booty. In the meantime, she'll take what she can get. |
